For many boat owners, one of the frustrations in using their boat is boarding from deep water. Most ladders on pontoon boats leave quite a bit to be desired. They tend to be narrow, steep, not reach deep enough into the water, and have small steps that hurt your feet. This can be especially troublesome for people with physical limitations or our 4-legged friends who also love boating! For 2023, Barletta has partnered with Lillipad to include a ladder that alleviates all of these problems. Deep Water Boarding Made Easy!
One of the primary issues with standard pontoon ladders is in boarding from deep water. These ladders hang down nearly vertically and they don't reach nearly far enough into the water. This means the individual needs to bring their foot up to reach the bottom step and pull their body up from an uncomfortable angle. This is no longer an issue with the Barletta Lillipad Revo Ladder. This ladder angles out away from the boat, similar to stairs, and folds down again at the mid-point of the ladder to reach deep into the water. This ladder reaches 47" down from the deck of the boat and has a 5-step staircase design to make boarding a breeze!
The steps are a huge improvement over a traditional ladder as well. The upper stairs are 7.5" deep and lower stairs are 4" deep to fit your feet comfortably compared to only 1.5"-2" on most traditional ladders. This is especially helpful for dogs to board from the water as well.
Easy to Deploy and Retract
Another challenge with standard ladders is deploying and retracting the ladder. In most cases, the only way to deploy and retract the ladder is to get down on your knees and lean over the water especially when bringing the ladder back into the boat. With Barletta's Lillipad Revo ladder, this can all be done from a standing position. The Lillipad Revo ladder uses a very innovative folding design along with a retracting strap to allow you to deploy or retract standing on the back of your boat - no kneeling required!
Build Like a Tank!
The Lillipad Revo ladders are built well beyond industry standards as well. Constructed with heavy wall aluminum extrusions & stainless steel hardware, these ladders can accommodate up to 400 pounds. A standard boarding ladder is typically rated for much less - around 250 lbs in most cases.
